NEW SECTION 232 TARIFFS ON STEEL AND ALUMINUM EFFECTIVE 02/08/20
Late on January 24, 2020 President Trump issued a proclamation imposing Section 232 tariffs on finished products made of steel and aluminum.entered on or after February 8th, 2020. The steel tariff (25%) will apply to goods from all countries except Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Mexico and South Korea. Aluminum tariff (10%) will affect goods from all countries except Argentina, Australia, Canada and Mexico. Tariff numbers have not yet been provided, although there is some more detailed information available in the above link, we will follow up with additional information once available. We believe steel nails, tacks and corrugated nails or aluminum automobile stampings, aluminum wire and cables, are likely to be on the list.
