Vessel Congestion Continues at both Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach:
As consumer buying continues and has not let up, stimulus checks are in the mail and more retail is opening allowing additional options for American buyers to continue to spend. Buying patterns are expected to continue through the summer and through the 2nd quarter. Goods not limited to e-commerce, have driven ocean imports to record highs. Both ports have set record months of unloading containers. Vessel congestion in the Los Alamitos Bay continues and as vessels arrive, the Coast Guard directs them to an anchorage and may wait up to eight days to relocate to a terminal for unloading.
