October 31, 2024Lacey Act & Phase VII Implementation
On December 1, 2024, the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) will be implementing Phase VII of the Lacey Act. This phase regards certain imported plants and wood products.
In preparation for this phase in December, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Office of Trade and the USDA are going to be hosting a webinar on October 30th at 2pm EST. During this webinar, they will be providing updates on the implementation of Phase VII of the Lacey Act, and discussing the new requirements that importers of these goods will have to follow.
We encourage all importers to sign up for the webinar to make sure you understand the new regulations and which products will be affected. Sign up for the webinar at the link: https://cbptradeevents.certain.com/profile/form/index.cfm?PKformID=0x18488abcd .
You can find more information about the Lacey act on the USDA website, as well as a list of affected products on the Federal Register website.
