March 15, 2024APHIS BRS Implements Flexibility to Import Permits
Due to the feedback of stakeholders, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) Biotechnology Regulatory Services (BRS) is implementing more flexibility for importation permits through APHIS eFile.
In efforts to simplify and streamline the APHIS BRS permit application process, applicants can now consolidate multiple-origin and multiple-destination locations within a single APHIS importation permit. This approach aims to save time, and decrease the number of permits required by stakeholders for importing regulated material into the United States.
To align with this enhanced flexibility, APHIS BRS has updated its APHIS 2000 Permit Application and Compliance Reporting Job Aid and can be found here: USDA APHIS | APHIS eFile Training.
