October 31, 2024BREAKING: ILA & USMX Reach a Tentative Agreement
Just six days before the end of their current contract, the International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) and the United States Maritime Alliance (USMX) have reached a tentative agreement on a new six-year Master Contract. The current contract will remain in effect until the union convenes its full Wage Scale Committee for a ratification vote and USMX members finalize their approval of the agreement.
Details of the tentative agreement remain confidential to allow ILA members and USMX stakeholders to review and vote on the final terms.
This new contract will safeguard current ILA jobs and establish a framework for adopting technologies that will not only modernize the ports, but help create new jobs, increase efficiency and safety, and ensure resilience in our supply chains.
