Vessel Congestion Update:
The Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach continue to work arriving vessels. Anchorage numbers continue to be significantly reduced with the number of anchored vessels now in the lower double digits.
Container vessels are being unloaded at the terminals at near terminal capacity, hovering at 26-27 container vessels being worked daily as the ILWU (International Longshore and Warehouse Union) work two shifts. Both ports continue reporting record high container volume statistics.
Note: Egypt Seizes/Impounds the Ever Given
By a court of law, the Ever Given, one of the largest container vessels in the world has been arrested by a court in Egypt. The giant vessel, which ran aground and blocked the Suez Canal, is anchored on Great Bitter Lake with a crew of 25 on board. The vessel has been hit with a $91 million claim from the Suez Canal Authority. It is unclear how long it may take to allow the vessel to clear and proceed on its scheduled voyage.
