Port Congestion Update 4/2/2021

The weekend of Easter and Passover, ILWU and Dock workers anticipated working fewer hours. Terminal Gates were mostly closed from Friday PM to Monday 8:00 AM. Container vessel cargo was not unloaded during most of the religious weekend. Earlier last week, Gene Seroka, Executive Director of the Port of Los Angeles was quoted in part: “As Suez Canal Blockage Freed, negative impact on the West Coast is not anticipated.” The other coasts may experience carrier changes to shipping schedules.”
